Gotcha Day
Sophie's Big Day
Sophie's Gotcha Day was awesome. We celebrated her one-year homecoming anniversary. Food - Music - Dancing - Games - Pinata - Dora Cake - 3 Grandmas - 3 Fiddlers - 45 Relatives and Friends. It was one of those Bell house parties where time was relative - it could have been 1989 - 99 - and hopefully in 2009 we'll still have parties like this one. Sophie received gifts we purchased in Guatemala, a puppet, a Mayan Indian outfit, and little what nots. One of the nicest things she got was from her Uncle Randy and Aunt Sue, a Navajo doll. Even though Sophie's tribe is not a Buffalo tribe, it is still a native North American people (the Maya K'aqekel). So on Gotcha Day we celebrate her Mayan heritage. It was a blast.
